For more than 40 years, the Manufacturing Industry in Mexico has received constant attention from the Federal Government in order to encourage its development.
Several factors have contributed to the development and growth of the Export Manufacturing Industry in Mexico, particularly the Federal Government's support of activities by providing incentives to defer the payment of general import tax, value added tax and, where appropriate, countervailing duties on raw materials, machinery and equipment for their operations. There are no sectoral restrictions on performance, they are 100% open to foreign capital and can set up and operate in any part of the Mexican Republic.
Furthermore, the administrative simplification process made possible by the SICEX-Maquila computer system has made the manufacturing industry's procedures much easier.
The development and operational policies implemented by the Mexican government have turned the manufacturing industry into the most dynamic factor in national industry in recent years.
