In the first quarter of 2024 the gross domestic product was $1.15T MX, 19.5% less than the previous quarter.

According DENUE 2024, Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting registered 44,212 economic units. The states with the highest number of economic units were Tabasco (5,792), Oaxaca (5,304), and Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave (4,636).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, total gross production was $44.6B MX. The states with the highest total gross production were Sonora ($10.6B MX) and Sinaloa ($8.34B MX).

For its part, total income reached $46B MX in 2019, being the states with the highest income Sonora ($11B MX) and Sinaloa ($8.9B MX).

Economic activities are related if they require similar knowledge or inputs. In 2014 in Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting the states with the highest affinity were Baja California Sur (0.9), San Luis Potosí (0.85), Chihuahua (0.84), Sinaloa (0.84), and Durango (0.83).

During the first quarter of 2024 in Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting the workforce was 1.83M people, 87.5% men and 12.5% women. In addition, the average monthly salary informed was $5.64k MX.

According to data from the Economic Census 2019,  24,372 economic units were totaled in Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting, highlighting Oaxaca (3,744), Tabasco (3,059), and Sinaloa (2,321).

Total gross production was $44.6B MX. The states with the highest total gross production were Sonora ($10.6B MX) and Sinaloa ($8.34B MX).

Total income reached $46B MX in 2019, being the states with the highest income Sonora ($11B MX) and Sinaloa ($8.9B MX).

In 2019, Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting had a total of 24,372 economic units and the municipalities with the highest number of economic units were Centla (894), San Miguel Soyaltepec (561), and Centro (521).

Also, $42.4B MX in total income were registered and the municipalities with the highest income were Hermosillo ($4.45B MX), Ensenada ($3.41B MX), and Mazatlán ($3.17B MX).

Total expenditure registered in 2019 was $23.7B MX and the municipalities with the highest expenditure were Ensenada ($2.33B MX), Mazatlán ($2.21B MX), and Hermosillo ($1.98B MX).

In 2019 there were 210k employees dependent on economic units and the municipalities with the highest number of employees were Ahome (7.13k), Hermosillo (6.11k), and Acapulco de Juárez (5.34k).

According to DENUE data published in May 2024, 35,012 companies with 0 to 10 employees were registered (17,561 companies more than the previous period). In the same period, 7,416 companies with 11 to 50 employees were registered (3,713 companies more than the previous period).

1,214 companies with 51 to 100 employees were registered in 2024 (604 companies more than the previous period). Likewise, 570 companies with more than 101 employees were registered (285 companies more than the previous period).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the distribution of economic units according to size that had access to financing was 5.79% units with up to 10 people, 12.9% units with 11 to 50 people, 17.4% units with 51 to 250 people, and 41.5% units with 251 and more people.

According to the age of the economic units, the distribution of those that obtained financing was 7.89% of the recently created (up to 2 years) units, 11.5% of the youth (3 to 5 years) units, 9.06% of the adults (6 to 10 years) units, and 6.73% of the seniors (over 10 years) units.

The states with the highest percentage of economic units that received financing were Chihuahua (26.5%), Nayarit (20.9%), Sonora (20%), Coahuila de Zaragoza (17.6%), and Nuevo León (17.5%).

According to data from the Economic Census 2019, the main problems faced by the economic units of Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting with up to 10 workers are high costs of raw materials (24.7%), another problems (20.1%), lack of credit (15%), and excess government procedures to operate (6.92%).

According to data from the 2019 Economic Census, 19.8% of the large economic units in the Agriculture, Animal Production, Forestry, Fishing and Hunting sector separated their waste, highlighting the separation of plastic (74.6%), organic waste (47.1%), and paper (36.7%).

On the other hand, 1.58% of the large economic units applied some treatment to the wastewater generated in their activity. The main uses of the treated water were same production process (0.64%), gardening and cleaning (0.47%), and discharge to the public network (0.42%).
